About Sense Maker Goods

Mission Statement:

Sense Maker Goods exists to help people reflect, remember, and find meaning through research-driven, handcrafted displays of service and sacrifice.

Sense Maker Goods was born from a simple truth: our Vietnam veterans are passing, and with them, the unspoken stories of their service. Too often, families are left with medals, patches, and photos they cannot identify, mere fragments of a legacy with no map. As the son of a Vietnam combat veteran, this is personal. I bring together research skills, reverence to service, and story-telling design to help descendants understand what these items mean and create custom displays, both elaborate and simple, that honor a life of service and preserve its meaning for future generations. I work across all U.S. service branches and eras, from World War I (and earlier) to today, and I welcome any custom request that helps bring a legacy into the light.

Personal Bio:

I was born at the beginning of the end of the Cold War, the child of a Vietnam War combat veteran and career U.S. Army officer. History wasn't abstract, it was personal. I was shaped by the mysticism of the Sonoran Desert, the rugged honesty of the Superstition Mountains, and the clarity I later found among Colorado's Front Range. Arizona made me, Colorado shaped me into who I am and is my home.

Life hasn't been without fractures. Family division, scars of wars both past and present, and a changing world all left their mark. Therapy, journaling, and historical research became my tools of understanding and healing. I've spent years helping friends, family, and fellow veterans' families understand their pasts. I've uncovered hidden service records, created custom shadow boxes, and designed artwork that helped families grieve, remember and celebrate. I am also a proud adoptive dad, and it's important to me that my kiddo grows up with an understanding of the importance of service, and how to make sense of the world around him.
